ABOUT ME
As the Second Century News Fellow, I write, research, edit, and produce broadcast and digital stories for Wisconsin Public Radio. I have a particular interest in audio storytelling- good pieces of natural sound woven throughout a story can engage an audience. I'm a general assignment reporter, with a specific interest in education reporting.
My work is character-driven because everyone has a story to tell. Journalism that is accurate, thorough and creative can help people become informed voters, kind neighbors and educated citizens.
I live in Wisconsin, but I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. My work has taken me to Egypt, Scotland, Tennessee and North Carolina. I have earned many accolades for my work. Most recently I won a Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for a narrative podcast. When I’m not telling a story, you can usually find me reading, hiking, baking or traveling.
